How Project Server 2010 Calculates Capacity

It seems that the custom report will match PWA reports in a fixed test environment for sure.

For April in yellow below they match. So it seems that Base capacity is without Res Cal exceptions but with Project Exceptions and the Max units in formula.

Resource Capacity field includes Res and Proj Cal exceptions and Max Units. So to make both PWA view and custom reports match we use Resource Capacity for the max amount of hours in the month for project work. The field Allocated Capacity is simply work. The field called available is the Diff between Resource Capacity and allocated. makes sense eh?

Why does March not equal 108? The capacity does line up for April
The Excel reports do not take into account resource calendars in Capacity Supply calculations
The PWA Assignments view does take into account Project Cal and Res cal exceptions
The options properties for Project do not effect the capacity calculations,
they are only for estimating the hours during entry e.g. when a user enter 2d, the system will enter 2*that value
  Allocated Capacity = Work
Capacity = Working days in the month * hours per day in the calendar

The bottom line is that PWA works as one would expect but the Report Queries out of the box may not unless you use the Resource Capacity value.
